Since I was young I always struggled with depression and isolation, not understanding the emotions I was feeling and why I was feeling them. In 2016, I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety disorder, leading me to seek further help and assistance. the health care professionals provided me with exercises, techniques and coping tools to break the cycle of negative thoughts and negative behaviours.
From all the tools and techniques given to me, the conclusion of my fashion photographic university projects always gave me strength and motivation to keep going, distracting me from negative emotions. By letting myself delve into my imagination and create stories and different worlds, I felt I was invincible and powerful, giving me confidence and a sense of belonging in something.
Intrigued by this I furthered my research and found how art can act as a therapy, improving general wellbeing. This way I decided to create Studio State of Mind for everyone who wants to use art therapy, like I do, as a coping system helping them with difficult situations.
